Hello, sorry its been a while! With internet problems and this absolutely gorgeous weather I have hardly opened my laptop! I have been spending all day, everyday in the garden with the Children and we have loved it! It does mean that the garden is looking pretty good, and the playhouse is pretty much finished (hooray!) but the house is an absolute wreck!! Oh well, plenty of time to sort that once the weather goes back to normal.
Anyway, in my last post about turning the Garden Shed into a Playhouse, I said I was going to use oilcloth to make some bunting for the playhouse. But that would have cost money, so instead I went through my fabric stash and got out the sewing machine and whipped up some easy peasy bunting!!
Here's how:
1. Draw a triangle of your desired size onto cardboard (cereal boxes are great), cut this out and use as your template.
2. Usng an air erasable pen (I got mine from ebay), draw around the template onto your fabric for your desired number of flags.
(sorry this picture isn't very clear)
3. Cut all of your flags using pinking shears
4. Fold your bias binding, insert your flags into the fold, leaving an equal space inbetween and pin into place
5. Run the binding through the sewing using matching thread
What did I say......Easy Peasy!!

Great bunting Tracy! Looks lovely. Yes, you gotta make the most of this wonderful weather. I keep telling myself that there will be plenty of time to catch up when the weather breaks.
ReplyDeleteHow did your sweet peas go? I had a good amount of flowers but they have turned to seed now. I think I need to learn how to prolong the flowering for next year. But all in all a good result.
Keep enjoying the sun! Mandy x
Hello Mandy, its glorious isn't it!! We just managed to get a paddling pool before they all sold out :)
DeleteMy Sweet Peas have started to flourish this last week and I now have lots of flowers (I will post a picture soon), so not sure why they took longer but hopefully they will last a while. Its all a learning curve :)
