New Old Door

We have wanted a new back door in the kitchen since we moved in but they are just so pricey. I was thinking about just re-painting the one we had and adding a new handle to spruce it up, but then I noticed that it was just a panel so we removed it (in the hope that underneath couldn't be much worse than what we already had).

So, here is the before:

And here it is with the panel removed, awful colours but loved the style...phew!! Please excuse the tools and mess :)

Before and After ~ Kitchen Cupboard Doors

We are updating our kitchen with a seriously small budget! We started by painting the kitchen tiles which was a success! Up to now I have painted the cupboard doors, fitted new handles and made a sink curtain to cover the washing machine but there is still a lot to do.

Here is a reminder of the before with the black tiles:

A visit to Dagfields Crafts & Antiques, Nantwich

I have been wanting to visit Dagfields for over a Year and yesterday we finally got to go! It was definitely worth the wait, so many gorgeous stalls - or as the leaflet says 6 giant emporiums and 200 sellers!!

I thought I would share with you some pictures of the inspiring and unique stalls:

Before and After ~ Kitchen Tiles

Our kitchen doesn't get a lot of natural light, and the black kitchen tiles don't help matters, it just looks dark and gloomy. Ideally we would have like to have new tiles, but seen as we are trying to keep costs down I thought I would try painting them.

We bought Ronseal one coat paint in natural stone. Following instructions, I completely scrubbed down the tiles with bleach and thoroughly dried them - my arms were aching before I had even started painting!

A Pretty Pair

My partners 94 year old Grandma kindly gave me some of her beautiful bone china teacup and saucers. Amongst the collection was this really pretty one, I just love the simplicity of the floral design:

Exposed Kitchen Shelves

I am seriously considering removing the wall units in our kitchen and replacing them with open shelves. I have visions of beautiful crockery, colour co-ordinated and organised along the shelves but in reality it could just be a mis-matched, cluttered, unorganised mess, so its a real risk! On the rare occasion that my Partner does the washing up, he puts all the glasses/cups back in the cupboard in no order whatsoever, which is fine(ish) when you shut the door on them, but if we had shelves would I just be forever rearranging them? Not to mention the extra cleaning, although if we fill it with everyday items then they shouldn't be sat there long enough to gather dust.

So, I have been looking for inspiration and have put together a Pinterest board before I take the plunge! Here are a few of my favourites:
