Yesterday we wrapped the children up in lots of layers and headed off to the Treacle Market in Macclesfield. Its on on the last Sunday of every month and we haven't missed one yet. Its a great family day out for us, there is lots of fresh food to taste, live music playing, LOTS of gorgeous stalls including vintage items, handmade items, art & crafts and a great plant stall...everything you could want from a market really!!
Sometimes we go, have a walk round and something to eat and not buy alot but then other times, like yesterday we buy quite a lot! And don't think about how we are going to get it all in the car with the two children and the buggy too!!
Here is what we bought:
This lovely little bench is perfect at the side of the sofa for putting cups of tea on. It needs a good clean and re-painting but need to decide on a colour first.
As I was walking round I saw a beautiful childs rocking chair painted with lovely spotty fabric for £35, I ummed and arrred (as you do) and walked away and then when I went back it had gone..typical!! Then when we were in Deja Vu, I was telling the guy about my missed buy and as luck would have it he had one in his garage that needed doing up and he only wanted £10 for it!! Obviously meant to be!! I'm looking forward to re-painting it but a little nervous about re-upholstering it, its not something I have done before, think I will get on youtube for some tips.
We also got this lovely cake slice and serving spoons for just 50p each.
And this very lovely serving plate for £3. I want to get a few serving plates for putting in the middle of the table but want to get a few mis-matched pretty ones rather than standard pyrex ones, so this is the first of my collection!
I hope you enjoyed having a nosey at my buys and I will post pics once I have finished re-vamping my new pieces!
Thank you for reading xx
Today I am joining in with these parties:
Your finds are excellent. I LOVE the tiny rocking chair- and how fantastic you found one for less than 1/3 of the price too! Looking forward to seeing its "after" photos! :) xx
ReplyDeleteI know - so glad I didn't just buy the first one I saw! It may take a while for me to finish but looking forward to it :) xx
DeleteThat happens to me often. I miss out on getting something then I come accross it again MUCH cheaper! That little bench is so cute. I'd be tempted to strip the top and paint the rest...x
ReplyDeleteI love it when that happens!! That is a good idea for the bench, think I might give that a go! Absolutely love your new stairs :) xx
