Before and After ~ Small set of Drawers

These drawers came from  our old house and they were invaluable there for extra storage in our small kitchen. In our house now they were still in the kitchen but ended up all becoming 'Man' drawers, other words full of junk!

So, last week I decided to empty them and give them a new lease of life.

I gave them two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint 'Old White', sanded them to give them a distressed look and then rubbed down with Annie Sloan clear soft wax. This was my first ever attempt at 'distressing' so was a little nervous, but soon got into it and maybe even over sanded? What do you think?

They are now in the bathroom and I think the weathered look works quite well. I think I will wax them again to protect them from water (bound to get splashed when the kids are in the bath).

This bowl was made by my Partner, we have a matching one in the downstairs loo, both filled with potpourri from Ikea (here).

The bottom drawer is filled with bath toys and the rest with toiletries. I'm thinking of lining them with oil cloth to protect them - one day!

They are definitely better in here than the kitchen - love a bit of upcycling!

Thank you for reading xx

    1. Thank you Mandy! You would think so but unfortunately each room seems to be work in progress! Every time I finish one project, another is added to the list! It would help if I concentrated on one room at a time - I will get there one day :) xx
